About the Studio

Abby Blount is a Williamsburg-based musician specializing in classical piano and musical theater style voice. As a student at the College of William & Mary, Abby had the opportunity to work with the William and Mary symphony orchestra, Botetourt Chamber Singers, William & Mary Theater and was able to play and perform solo piano throughout the completion of her degree.

Since graduating in 2025, Abby has started Blount Point Piano Studios, become the Walsingham Academy chorus teacher, concert manager for the Virginia Choral Society, and music director for Williamsburg School of Art and Page to Stage Theater.

When not performing or teaching Abby can be found baking sourdough at home, swim coaching for her childhood swim team, the Hidenwood Tarpons, singing at Liberty Live Church, or at the nearest coffee shop, enjoying an iced black coffee.

VMEA functions as a professional membership organization and an affiliate of the National Association for Music Education that supports teachers through advocacy, professional development, and service awards.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music

William & Mary offers a liberal arts Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music centered on core requirements in music theory, western music history, and world music, requiring core courses like Tonal Theory I and a senior capstone project.
