No refunds will be given once a check is cashed or payment is received. A one-month cancellation fee is required if a student wishes to stop studying and therefore breaks the contract and cancels his/her timeslot.
-
Students are able to continue lessons through the month in which they cancel, thus fulfilling their payment, but the timeslot will be given away after the student has been paid out.
Attendance
-
Attendance must be regular and punctual. If a student arrives late for his/her appointment, they will receive the remaining time of their lesson. If a student leaves early from his/her appointment, the remaining time will not be made up.
ALL MISSED LESSONS WILL NOT BE “MADE UP” EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING:
-
Lessons cancelled by the teacher.
-
In case of illness, a 24-hour notice is required.
-
A student who misses a lesson due to illness and has given proper notification to the teacher is put on the “sick list.” When time becomes available for make up, students on the sick list will be contacted. It is not a guarantee that lessons will be made up and will depend fully on the availability of the teacher and the student. In all other cases, lessons will be charged for. I.e. if a lesson is cancelled due to lack of practice, lessons missed because the student has forgotten their appointment, or lessons missed because the student is away on vacation.
-
If the lesson is cancelled for reasons other than illness, the teacher is under no obligation to make up this lesson.
-
I.e. school trips or other activities, birthday parties, sports games, sports practices etc.
-
Lessons may be rescheduled only if a switch can be arranged. At least one week's notice is needed for a reason other than illness. If this notice is not received, the lesson will not be made up.
-
If a one-week notification is received, then the parent may be given the names of other students with whom a switch could be arranged. It is up to the parent (or student) to arrange for a switch with another student and to inform the teacher. This lesson must be made up within the same week, not at a later time.
Terms
Weather: Blount Point Piano Studio follows the Newport News and James City County’s lead on when to cancel lessons due to inclement weather, with input from parents. There are many times when I will continue to teach even if school has been cancelled. In that case, parents proceed at their own risk. Lessons cancelled due to weather are not made up.
All lessons must be made up by the end of the lesson term. Regular lessons cannot be carried into the summer or into the next term.
A recital will be held at the end of the term that all students are expected to perform in and will be prepared for by the teacher.
The teacher will obtain the study books required for the students. The price of new books will be added to the monthly invoice when necessary.
The terms and conditions for Blount Point Piano Studios will be treated as a contract, by enrolling your students in the Fall or Spring Term, you are hereby accepting all of the terms and conditions following enrollment in Blount Point Piano Studio
